This lecture series is sponsored by the Visual Arts Boosters and is an exciting and integral part of the curriculum and the Art Club’s activity roster. Hearing from working artists or those who work in art-related fields is helpful in understanding the many career options that are available to those with an interest in art.
It's important to remember that art is a subject that supports learning and achievement in ALL fields. Keeping an open mind and hearing how others have found their path with art as a foundation can be key to making important life decisions.
The lectures are held in the Black Box during lunch, from @11:45 am - 12:20 pm. We’d love for you to join us!
November 10th - Dr. R. Peter Mooz, a MLWGS grandparent and past director of the VMFA, will speak about careers in the arts
February 9th - Emily Smith, executive director of 1708 Gallery, will speak about the RVA art scene and the role of a gallery director
